More Dangerous Than Terrorists...

That's how Oklahoma State Representative Sally Kern feels about...well...about me. Hmmm. Maybe she hasn't heard the news about that Death Star and its cosmic gamma rays. Or maybe I'm more dangerous than that too. But you can hear her deep thoughts for yourself:

Wow. It's sad that someone so ignorant could be an elected official. At least she wasn't gay-bashing, though! I'm glad she explained that.

One of the saddest things about people like this is that they spew their hatred in the name of Christianity. It's so odd that they don't see that they are turning people away from Christ by their behaviour.

It's grotesque that she can be *proud* of insisting that high schoolers will be reported to their parents if they show up at GLBT clubs or events. A couple of minutes earlier she's helpfully pointed out the higher suicide rate for GLBT people - couldnt' possibly have anything to do with being hated as well as just being numerically in the minority, could it?

I'd make people like that study Kant, Hegel, Barth, Moltmann, Derrida and Foucault *until they could critique them from a position of understanding*. That ought to keep them quiet for a while.

My standing rebuttal to people of her persuasion is On Becoming a Christian.
