...And For Something Completely Different...

On my way to Remus this morning I was listening to a Morning Edition feature on Thomas Tallis' Spem in alium -- an amazing Elizabethan-era polyphonic choral work. Morning Edition only played snippets of it, and I found myself thinking, "Shut up! I want to hear the music!" Follow the link above to an album definitely on my wish list now.

Thomas Tallis- beautiful ethereal music!
Yesterday I listened to Pergolesi's Stabat Mater. Another wonderful choral piece.

I wish I had money to spend on music. Very long ago, when I used to slum in a bookstore, I bought all sorts of great classical music with my employee discount, but most of these cassettes (!) are now the worse for wear, and when I got rid of my turntable several years ago I gave away all my LP's too.

BTW -- thanks for stopping by! It's been so quiet in blogdom that I feared the Rapture had happened and that I'd have to completely rethink my eschatology. [grin]
