Pawn Meets Bishop

I got an invitation to a bishop's installation this Saturday. Actually, it's at the church where I'm having a lay ministry retreat.

How does one dress for an installation? My retreat-wear usually consists of blue jeans and MSU sweatshirts; guess I'll have to gussy up a little.

your best punk rock outfit would do.

I have a souvenir T-shirt from Hell (Michigan) that says: HELL: Hellions, Hillbillies and Wannabes. It's actually a very tasteful print, in a fashion-forward color.

Perhaps a "we're gay, we pray and we are here to stay" T-shirt?

You can still wear the jeans, but wear a U of M sweatshirt...it's more classy.

U OF M???????????????

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!

Rev D: Actually, constant readers of this blog know of my style-challenged Amazing Technicolor Jacket, currently consigned to a very dark corner of my closet. I could don that and make a very visual rainbow-solidarity statement...but I know that my fabulous, fashion-cop almost-son-in-law (think Marc on Ugly Betty, but NICE) would never forgive me for wearing it in public, even on principle.

So the jacket is out, huh? At least no one is expecting you to wear your alb and a stole in a warm room in August. ;-) I vote for something red or green to match "the color of the day."
