I can see some understanding it as a political statement against the war. If that were the case I'd be putting one up too. But where does anyone come up with the peace sign as a satanic symbol?

This Kearns fellow seems like a-- pardon the technical jargon-- real whack-a-do.
Wow! Talk about offensive! Wouldn't one have to remove any and all holiday 'decorations' or 'signs' - or really anything. What about freedom of speech. Hmm..
I'm old enough to remember when the same objection to the peace sign was trotted out in the late '60's. Strange to see that argument popping up again forty years later.
Verdugo--I love the technical term "A real whack-a-do." I'll have to work that into a report sometime.
Various topics come to mind, besides insanity--freedom of speech, the polity of neighbourhood associations, the season of love and good will--but it's just too much.
Of course, otoh, there's the equally distressing notion that a neighborhood assoc. (pre-Kearns cleansing) would deem that a peace symbol "says nothing".

I came across people who thought that the peace symbol is Satan. To them it looks like an upside down and broken cross.
I think that is the paranoid Christian crowd.
