Upping the Ante

Let's rephrase my last post: I bet that you can't teach me to play euchre. I double-dog-dare you to even try. I mean -- reread my comments in the last post and you will see how utterly clueless I am. And this is, as mentioned, after hours of tutorials.

So far we've had a man of the cloth step up to the challenge. Any other takers?

If you think -- emphasis on the think -- you can teach my card-challenged self how to play euchre -- you've got a long, uphill battle ahead of you. Are you sure you can do it? Real sure?

That's what you think.

Bring it on.

Bring it on, Tom in Ontario. E-mail me.

Can't we just play a nice round of hearts instead? I kill at hearts. Or Uno? We've started playing Uno every night after dinner to decide who has to do the dishes (I won tonight).

We play an abbreviated form of euchre we colliqually call "Rabbit."

Uh...what ever happened to just plain old poker? That's not hard to play.

Have you tried pogo.com? They have instructions for all their games, including Euchre. I read the Euchre instructions and they seemed a bit dense (or is it that I am dense?) but if you've had some exposure already perhaps it would be a bit clearer... It would give you a relatively anonymous playing field to try it out, anyway (just pick a different user name).

errr...I'm a Lutheran who's never heard of Euchre...now I'm quite curious.

I've got a handy dandy deck of ELCA advocacy cards from the youth gathering to try it with!
