Damn

Last week I got my mammogram, as I do every year. Every year, it's normal.

This evening, after I got home from work, I got a call from the hospital radiology department. They want me to come in again for more pictures. They didn't say why. I was too flustered to think to ask.

Damn. Damn, damn, damn.

I go back tomorrow morning. Please keep me in your prayers.

I got the same sort of call a couple of years ago. It was just an "artifact" on the film, some sort of smudge or blur they couldn't identify that turned out to be nothing. I got the impression that this happens a lot and that people are often called back because of stuff like this. I'll be praying for you.

Loving God,
Come, Holy Spirit, come. We seek your comfort and your caring. We ask your presence and your power be made tangible in our sister's heart right now. Guide the medical professionals who will be interpreting the slides, guide their decisions, and bring clarity. Be at work in this time.

Tonight I pray for LK that you give her rest-- a peaceful night, cradled in your loving arms.

We ask this in your powerful name, Amen.

Obviously I can't speak for your radiology dept. but I would think if there were something bad, your own doctor would call you. But then, I don't know if you have a doctor that you know.

But, hey, they should have the courtesy to tell you if it is a smudge or something.

Definitely prayers coming your way.

Did you use powder or deoderant? Maybe they just didn't get a good view and need to repeat it. I bet it's nothing serious, still, dear LC, I'm praying for your peace of mind and for good news afterwards.

You are indeed in my prayers, as well. I'm sure reassurances might seem kind of hollow right now, but take heart in the fact that you go for this important test every year. The mantra of breast cancer survivors is "The best protection is early detection!"

Hugs to you, LC. It is scary, I have been there.

Anything else I could say will be old news by the time you read this...

Blessings--

How are things today? (BTW, I had to have a re-take once; it wasn't anything - just so they could get a better look.)

Hope that's the case for you, too. Prayers from me as well.

Still praying.
