Guess What? The Hurricane is All Our Fault!

Well, this didn't take long: Repent America .

In which case God has pretty poor aim, I'd say.

How do you find crap like this? Maybe you spend a lot more time on the net than I do because I just don't happen to surf into sites like that. UGH! It makes me sick that there are people like that out there.

My sermon this Sunday is the 3rd of the Guiding Principles in Reclaiming the "L" Word, Love Changes People. LOVE, for Christ's sake, is what changes people, not threats or fear or lectures or rulebooks or laws or being beat upside the head with the Bible. LOVE

This just makes my very soul sick. I knew it was going to happen, but I guess nothing prepares you for that slap that hate delivers.

Tom: I spend way too much time online, which increases my CEF (Crap Exposure Frequency).

Pastor Grover over at Grover's Corners has a good post about this, and a link to a petition repudiating this type of thinking.

God also has bad timing....

If God wanted to smite partying gays shouldn't He have done it when there were actually gay people in town partying?? He's a week off.

New Orleans has a relatively small resident gay community. Miami, Dallas, Atlanta and Houston are the southern gay meccas.

You are far more kind to them than I was...I had to intentionally make myself stop writing when I found RA website because I thought I was going to go off the deep end.

Hi, Dan! I know; even if the premise weren't stupid, it would still be stupid...but consider the source.

LutherPunk: I think it's less a matter of being kind and more a matter of being burned out.

Well, I really think that the best part of that site is the little add on the left: "Are you good enough to go to heaven? FIND OUT HERE." Man, that is great stuff. I am impressed that someone has taken exegesis to that level. Wow. Just Wow.

Greg: They probably got MDivs from mail-order seminary -- you know, the ad right below the one for X-ray glasses.

Kind of ironic, too, that while the holy folks are all patting themselves on the back for their righteousness quotients, the "sinners" are busy actually HELPING in this crisis.

The earth is a beautiful a planet and things like hurricanes and earthquakes, volcanoes and floods are a natural part of a living planet. God would'nt put us on a dead planet. These things happen and as sad as it is, how we respond shows how we live in our faith. I don't understand how people can interpret the bible this way.

I mean people who think we are being punished for our sins. How they interpret the bible this way. Thinks
