Friday Five: Bucket List

This week's RevGalBlogPals Friday Five asks us to share five items from our "bucket list" -- for the uninitiated, those things we want to do before we kick the bucket.

Here are five of mine -- big and little, short and sweet:

1. Visit Vermont.

2. Learn to fly-cast.

3. Learn tai chi.

4. Learn to navigate in a personal boat -- a kayak or a canoe -- without maiming/kiling myself or others.

5. Find another "special someplace" here in Michigan, apart from our usual haunts in Leelanau and Benzie Counties, that pleases us -- that's a good place for a getaway.

#4: Come on over and we'll give you easy lessons, no muss, no fuss. On the river or on the lake. We have four canoes for 2 people. ??? yes, excessive, but we aren't excessive in most areas of our lives. I keep envisioning taking out all the canoes, standing with a foot in one canoe and the other foot in the other canoe, trying to ride the waves.

My beloved used to fly-cast. He said it was the most "zen" experience he's ever had. Definitely worth learning.

As for #4, yes, it would be best if no one were harmed in the process. :)

with regard to #4...do you know the books by ARthur Ransome that begin (it's a series) with "Swallows and Amazons"??? Another reader of children's books whom I greatly respect -- Michelle Landsberg, her husband is Stephen Lewis who was a Canadian rep to the UN and is a mighty agitator on behalf of Africa -- said that the Ransome series made her feel, as a little girl, supremely confident that she could handle small boats should she ever wish to!
I recommend them
blessings on all your bucket list and a speedy resolution to the "meh"
The word verification is "dekel" -- here in Prairie Metropolis one of the most notable caterers is "Fyfe 'n' Dekel" -- maybe PIE would help the 'meh'?
