I Don't Know About You...

Was I the only person in church this morning who, every time I heard the word Areopagus, thought of Snuffleupagus?

Further word play... Whenever one of my nephews is being crabby, I say, "Come here! Let Aunt T. Snuggleupafuss!" Ha. But I'm a dork. :)

No, you weren't the only one. And Ginger, in order to remember how to pronounce the word in her sermon practiced by saying Areopagus! in the same rhythm that Janet Jackson says, "Minneapolis!" in the middle of the song, "Control."

Peace,
Milton

Our church meets on Sunday evening, and I preached tonight. Having seen your post earlier, I mentioned it in my sermon (and even compared St. Paul to Big Bird . . .). The sermon was well-received (and mostly non-Sesame-Street-related).

This is my first time commenting here, but I enjoy reading your blog.

Hee hee! Our priest, reading the Gospel, had a bit of trouble with the word. Now I wonder if he was thinking of this. (He is over 80 so maybe...maybe not...)

I was the one READING the word, so my mind didn't go there this time. I like the thought, though! :~)

I, too, thought of fuzzy elephants Sunday morning, as did our reader, which allowed us to have a nice moment during worship. :-)
