Good Summertime Gifts of God

Strawberries...rhubarb...asparagus...and Great Lakes Tea and Spice Company's wild rose white tea. If you like jasmine tea, you will love white tea infused with real rose petals. The fragrance is out of this world too.

Amen, sister. And don't forget peaches, cherries, blueberries, and Copper River salmon. The tea sounds wonderful.

I hope FT is feeling better today, and on the mend.

I had rhubarb pie for the first time the other day! A seminary friend's partner made it while I was down doing yardwork/roofing/shingling with and for them! It was goooooooooodddd! :)

Trish, my boss makes a kind of rhubarb custard pie in a 9 by 13 pan...simple crust with this custardy, rhubarby goodness spread on top. It's really good.

I also enjoy our Amish neighbors' strawberry rhubarb jam swirled around in some vanilla yogurt.

Zorra: FT woke up feeling pretty sore, but rallied enough to come to church with me...then came home and crashed. But later in the day she was feeling good enough to play some one-armed Wii.;-)

I can send you a great rhubarb/custardy recipe if you'd like. Love rhubarb. Wish it didn't need so much sugar.

That custard thing, and your strawberry rhubarb in yogurt sounds awesome. Since I am inept at kitchen/food type things, do you suppose you could make a smoothie out of rhubarb, yogurt, and maybe some milk or juice of some sort? I don't know if that'd work, what with being new to rhubarb and all. :) Ha. See ya.

I have never eaten any rhubarb in my life.

It may be time to try it.

Rhubarb is wonderful, though I rarely get in TX. I have a recipe for rhubarb cake that has a CUP of vanilla in it!

I've never had white tea, but have been intrigued by descriptions of it.
