Nominated For Banishment

Lake Superior State University, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, has a 3-decade-old tradition of compiling an annual list of Banished Words: current buzzwords and -phrases that are so overused, misused or otherwise annoying that they deserve eternal banishment from the language.

The new list comes out on January 1st, so I wanted to get a head start on my nomination:

values voter

What does this even mean? Don't all voters have values that motivate their participation in the voting process? If I don't fit the rather narrow parameters that defines "values voter" in current usage, that somehow makes me a "valueless" voter? Excuse me?

I've already made my feelings known on the LSSU Banished Words website. Feel free to do likewise, with this idiotic term, or one of your own.

Maybe the opposite of Values Voter is an He Looks Hot Voter. Sexist since most candidates are men.

Too bad people didn't vote against the He Looks Stupid candidate a few years ago.

    Oh, slap my face.
